Bernard Kearse, host of Following Your Passions, chronicles the circuitous life of Glen Sprouse, Brew master at 5 Seasons Brewing. Sprouse's engineering background, and systemization work in the food industry made for an auspicious start to his homebrewing days in 1988. Growing up in Germany instilled a love for beer that Sprouse knew he wanted to bring back to the states. Not satisified with the export quality of European beers, Sprouse became determined to create the best local beer possible. Starting with Georgia legislation, Sprouse lobbied to change laws that prevented brewpubs from exisiting in Georgia, and paved the way for bringing back the brewpub to Georgia. From the inception of Phoenix Brewery to the advent of 5 Seasons Brewery, Sprouse's passion is beer and making the best beer possible. Visit 5 Season's Brewery for a taste of world class beer in Sandy springs. Stick around for the second half of the show and get the history behind the beer. From 4300 breweries before Prohibition to less than 40 after, the history of beer is just as interesting as the brewing process itself.

Temple of Health Drs. Susan Kolb & Linda Rayner speak with Dr. George L. Carlo about cell phones and our health and well-being. In 1993, a Florida man brought a lawsuit because his wife's surgeon suggested that her brain tumor was in part created by cell phone use. This event generated national media attention, garnered a spot on Larry King Live, and prompted Congressional hearings that revealed how cell phones were exempted from pre-market safety testing because of an agreement between the cell phone companies and the FDA. In 1993 there were 15 million cell phone users and these questions could not be anwered scientifically. In 1999 the results of independent testing found that cell phone radiation caused leakage in the blood-brain barrier, increased genetic dammage in human blood cells, and caused a specific type of brain tumors such as the one found in the Florida woman in 1993. Listen to the conversation that cell phone companies prefer you ignore.
